Paleontology Collection Digitization Initiative

You can now download and print 3D models of fossils from the CMM Paleontology Collection.

  • 3D .stl/.ply files are ready to print models of fossils in our collection.
  • 3D PDF files allow you to view and manipulate the fossils in real time on your computer.
  • CT Scans are the original images used to make the models. These are available upon request to those who want to work with the raw data.
This work was supported by IMLS Grant: MA-11-15-0218-15.
Additional support came from Jeff Siewardsen's I-STAR Lab at Johns Hopkins University and the Smithsonian Institution.
